![]() ![]() It isn't a top-deck and I win off a behind board state, or even always a neutral board state. With all the social disdain that infinite combo decks get in casual battlecruiser EDH, since combo decks can "win out of nowhere", I would think people would feel similarly about Craterhoof.Įdit: a better comparison that some people might better identify with is getting bored with U or Ux decks just trying to win off of LabManĮdit2: I would be fine with Craterhoof if it was an "on cast" ability, that's what stops so many of the Eldrazi from being completely brokenĬraterhoof is really not even close to as degenerate as most infinite combo engines. Speaking of combo, it also annoys me how it's acceptable for someone to end "casual" games because they have GGG5, but it's "degenerate" if I try and play a fragile combo deck that tries to combo off before turn 8. It feels like I wasted that entire game when one card will just instantly end it, but it only works becuase we're playing battlecruiser EDH and people aren't packing a lot of interaction or fast combos. It annoys me even more if they tutor for it or play off of ] with ], because at that point it just turns into "9 mana = I win the game." ![]() I just find it super boring when every G or Gx deck ramps/durdles, plays a bunch of small creatures, and then just slams Craterhoof. I mostly play casual pick up games at my LGS, but from my experience nearly every green deck is running ].
